Mission Statement

The mission of St. James Parish Parks and Recreation is to create and provide recreational opportunities that allow residents to grow and enhance their quality of life and promote community involvement with the goal to increase the physical and social well-being of our residents.

If you want to take a step away from your busy life and enjoy the wonders of St James Parish, it would be so easy to become engulfed in the recreations specific to the area. From history books to cultural activities, festivals and live entertainment to eating delicious Cajun food at any of the nationally known restaurants, watching some of the South's biggest high school sporting events or the recreational department's events to taking swamp tours on our beautiful waterways, there is always entertainment of different forms in St. James Parish. Visitors and residents never have to look hard to be amused!
