St. James Parish President Dufresne recommended to have Halloween as usual this year, and the council approved the hours of trick-or-treating on Saturday, October 31 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Guidance from the CDC and Louisiana Department of Health recommends the following for residents interested in participating:

πŸŽƒ Children and parents wear cloth face masks appropriate for COVID-19 (Costume masks are not approved protection.)

πŸ‘» Practice hand hygiene and bring hand sanitizer to use between houses

πŸŽƒ Do not participate if you or your child feels sick, has symptoms of COVID-19 or if you or a family member are under isolation or quarantine restrictions

πŸ‘» Maintain social distance of at least six feet from other groups

πŸŽƒ Put candy or treats in individual bags and lay them out for children, instead of putting them in a large bowl, for visitors to grab themselves

πŸ‘» Turn off house lights if you are not comfortable participating this year
