HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN UPDATE SURVEY ANNOUNCEMENT
St James Parish and its partners are seeking community input for the 2021 St James Parish Hazard Mitigation Plan update.
St James Parish OHSEP, in partnership with the Stephenson Disaster Management Institute (SDMI) at LSU, is leading the process to update the plan. The St James Parish Hazard Mitigation Plan describes the naturally occurring risks to the region and outlines strategies to reduce these risks to save lives, reduce property damage, and lessen the impact of future disasters. This plan is updated through a thorough planning and review process every five years.
Have you personally experienced a disaster? Where do you receive your emergency information from? Residents of St James Parish are asked to participate in a survey about public perceptions and opinions regarding natural hazards in the parish.
