For Parish Leagues (Youth Baseball, Youth Softball, Youth Soccer, and Biddy Basketball), payments are made on-line through the Recreation Department's Registration web page, Sports Illustrated Play.

The registration period is determined by the Recreation Department Coordinators. Registration is generally open for one month, depending on the sport.
Information on rainouts or cancellations will be posted on our St. James Parish Recreation web page under Site Links. Also, an email will be sent to all registered players if the rainout or cancellation occurs with enough time for notification. Last minute cancellations or rainouts will typically bt communicated by the team coaches.
The registration fee covers the cost of all or part of the uniform for the participant.
If you choose not to participate, please call the Recreation Office, 225-562-2337 to discuss refund information. However, once uniforms are ordered, refunds will NOT be issued.
Once teams are divided, the coach of your child's team will contact you about practice and game schedules.
Schedules are usually posted one to two weeks before a league starts. Paper copies of schedules are distributed by the coaches once they receive them from the Recreation Office.
The Recreation Department emphasizes the importance that every player plays adequate amount of time. We inform the coaches that all players will play. If you feel that your child is not receiving enough playing time, please contact your child's coach. Then, please inform the Recreation Administrator about the situation. The coach reserves the right to discipline any player due to conduct detrimental to the team and frequent absenteeism from scheduled practices.
The Recreation Department is responsible for selecting the coaches.
