Small Business of the Month
Small Business of the Month Guidelines
The St. James Parish Economic Development Department would like to recognize the accomplishments, hard work, and leadership of our local businesses. The Business of the Month is given to a business that demonstrates the qualifications and attributes listed below. Nominations will be kept on file for three months.
Qualifications:
• Business must hold current occupational license with St. James Parish Government or with one of the municipal towns
• 100 employees or less
• Must have been open for at least three years
• Locally operated franchises with 100 employees or less are eligible
• The business must not have won the Business of the Month award in the past 3 years
Additional considerations:
• Growth in sales/income/number of employees
• Contributions to civic or community involvement
• Response to adversity
Winners enjoy additional marketing, which includes:
• Plaque for display in business’ storefront
• Photo with official plaque
• Social media promotional post/video
• Press Release sent to local news outlets
